Who We Are

More Than a Martial Art

Hogans Taekwon-Do Kingston is a friendly, professional club practising traditional ITF Taekwon-Do in Kingston upon Thames. We place an equal emphasis on correct technique, personal discipline, and genuine development — for every student, at every level.

It's more than hard training. It's about respect, encouragement, and learning in a challenging but safe and enjoyable environment, regardless of your age or ability.

All of our instructors are registered with the BTC (British Taekwondo Council) via the UKITF, meaning they are fully insured, DBS verified, first aid qualified, and internationally certified.

Junior Classes

A structured, fun and disciplined environment where children develop focus, confidence, fitness, and respect — values that extend far beyond the training hall.

Ages 7–14

Whether you are a complete beginner or a returning student, adult classes cover patterns, sparring, self-defence, and destruction.

We train at the Tiffin Sport Centre, Queen Elizabeth Road, Kingston upon Thames. Evening and weekend sessions available to suit different schedules.

Head Instructor · 4th Degree Black Belt

Mr Brian Corridan

Mr Corridan leads all training at Kingston. Under his guidance, students of all ages and grades receive focused, high-quality instruction in a safe and supportive environment. Brian has competed at national and international level and has helped students achieve their own competition success, including national titles and European medals. He holds his instructor certifications through the UKITF.

Mr Edward Lidbetter

Edward has competed at national and regional level and brings a focused, disciplined approach to every session. His commitment to the art of Taekwon-Do is evident in everything he does, and he has consistently set an excellent example to fellow students throughout his training.

Ms Lesley Corridan

Lesley has competed at regional level and has supported countless students through their Taekwon-Do journey. Her instruction is patient and structured, with a focus on building confidence at every stage — ensuring each student progresses at their own pace in a positive and encouraging environment.

Grand Master Jim Hogan

Grand Master Hogan is the founder of Hogans Institute of Taekwon-Do and one of the most respected figures in ITF Taekwon-Do in the UK. He dominated the UK tournament scene in the 1980s, winning a European title in 1984 and the prestigious Masters Cup in Stockholm in 1990. He now attends the club for gradings and examinations, providing international standard assessment for all students progressing through the ranks.
